TENS is a compact device which elicits an electrical impulse through soft pads. The soft pads are placed on the body to stimulate the local nerve supply to reduce pain. The other form of stimulation I use is to insert needles directly into the tissues requiring treatment. This by-passes the skin and fatty tissue and leads to a more direct treatment. Both these forms of TENS are relatively painless.
